What does that mean though? In most people’s minds it means to have a base knowledge of art and science, but it’s a specific type of art that makes you cultured. I think everyone is intelligent and cultured. For example I can tell you a whole lot about music and formulate persuasive opinions but can I fix a broken boiler? No I can’t, there are different types of intelligence. I can appreciate Monet and love Francis Bacon but do I understand the appeal of Banksy? No I don’t, but to someone Banksy is far more important to art than Picasso, Pollock, and Dali all together. So to call me cultured is to only call me cultured by the definition you see fit, others would call me uncultured because I don’t understand the merit of the art they love and that’s fine.
So glad the Kings beat the wild.
